Mental Health First Aid

 

CMHA - Vancouver-Burnaby is now offering Mental Health First Aid!

This award-winning course teaches the first aid skills to assist someone showing signs of developing a mental health problem or who is experiencing a mental health crisis.

 

The 12 hour* course instructs particpants in:

  • Recognizing the signs and symptoms of common mental health problems and crisis situations
  • Basic actions for mental health first aid
  • How to provide help in order to prevent more serious problems from developing
  • Information about effective interventions and treatments
  • How to access help and resources

*Certificates are provided to those who attend the full 12 hours.

 

Who Can Attend?

 

Anyone who has an interest in mental health issues.

Everyone can benefit from Mental Health First Aid, including members of the general public, frontline workers, emergency personnel, health care providers, teachers, employers, managers, and community groups.

  • June 5 & 6

Location: St. John's Ambulance on Cambie Street 

Pricing as follows for public MHFA courses:

$120 + gst per person
$100 + gst per person (for purchase of 5 or more seats)
max. 24 people per class (18 is ideal)

Closed courses (specific for an organization or group):
$2500.00 + gst for session (up to 24 participants)
