Testimonials

"[The Support Employment program and CMHA Vancouver-Burnaby branch] gave us a solid foundation in both the theory and practice of supported employment from which we were able to develop our new program. [Their] down to earth, practical and supportive role as our mentor gave the team the confidence we needed during the transition to our new model of employment programming. [Their] support has been invaluable in helping us to constantly improve our practice and offer the best possibleservice to our clients.
We confidently recommend [the program's] mentorship both to set up a new program and for continued suppport as needed."

" In June 2006, following a literature review of best practice in supported employment models... occupational therapists in [Mill Lane and Ever Green Recycling, a sheltered workshop] enlisted the help of the CMHA Vancouver - Burnaby Branch supported employment (IPS) program. The Waterford Hospital Foundation generously funded [the IPS program] to come to St. John's to educate the therapists on the IPS model of supported employment and in addition to educate key stakeholders and consumers. This education was integral to the transition of the sheltered workshop. Following this education, [the IPS program at the Vancouver-Burnaby branch] continued to support the staff through e-mail and teleconference consultation. The transition was successfully completed in October 2007 and [the IPS program at the Vancouver-Burnaby branch] continues today to provide support and guidance in the development of our IPS service so we can ensure that we are following the fidelity scale in order to achieve successful outcomes. Leigh and her team are very knowledgeable and without their assistance, the transition of our program would have been much more difficult."
